Founded in London by Matthew Blanchard, HYPR is a new, exclusive members only club with a mission to provide their clients with hyper cars on demand. From Lamborghinis to Rolls Royce, HYPR is Uber gone hyper.
HYPR approached Mylo to create the consumer and driver app for their HYPR platform. The app had to be modern, minimalistic and easily accessible. Matthew and I worked on creating a note board for exactly what functions were required to bring the app to life. Hours were spent defining the app to make sure that the features needed were able to be realised.
My approach was to take inspiration from retro computer based interfaces that displayed the entire ship or spaceship on the dashboard to inform the pilot of what was malfunctioning. The interface would have the hyper car shown birds eye view for the user to see in all its glory.
The app home screen would have saturated colour background to give main significance to the car that they were about to hire. The home screen would also display how many cars were online, the name of the car currently in view, a summon button and a button to book.
“Needs to be usable, clean and functional." - Matthew Blanchard, CEO

I wanted to go with a font in the app that was clean, legible and refined around the edges. I chose the Adrian Frutiger's font 'Avenir' which means future, a linear sans in the tradition of Erbar and Futura. Avenir is not entirely geometric; it has vertical strokes that are thicker than the horizontals, an “o” that is not a perfect circle, and shortened ascenders. These nuances aid in clarity and give Avenir a melodic and sober appearance for both texts and headlines.

The colour palette comprises of greys, off whites and blacks. The colour is also used to improve usability. Greens, subtle orange and sky blues were used for the secondary colours.
