First, I need to fully understand what you are trying to achieve. It's best to have a conversation over tea so I can understand why you want to achieve what you want to achieve. I then show you my portfolio to get you familiar with the type of work I've done previously.
If the work is something that we are both mutually fond of, then we will agree to meet for another tea.
I ask for a couple of statements to know what the product, brand or experience is trying to achieve and make up a timeline based on the information that you have given me.
We meet for that third tea and look at the timeframe before agreeing a price for the work that is about to be undertaken. This is charged usually by the day or by the hour depending if I'm working on other projects at the time.
I'm not a developer, so I like to collaborate with a team of developers for my design projects. I get sign off from the developers before any design work has been started. It's very important to me that the client knows how important time frames are and who exactly is involved in the process every step of the way.
